The Fruit of the Spirit
Galatians 5:22-23 (NIV)
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.
Are you producing fruit?
The Harvest
Are you producing fruit?
The Greek word translated "fruit" pertains to the organic product of a living thing. In the scripture above, Paul uses the "fruit" as an analogy to help us understand the product of the Spirit (the Holy Spirit) within a Christian believer. Therefore, we allow the Spirit to manifest great works inside of us in order for it to manifest on the outside.
Flowing inside-out
The fruit of a plant displays the quality of its source (nutrients), so as the fruit of your spiritual life. It displays the quality of your relationship with Christ, the source of growth. Fruits lacking sunlight, water and fertile soil are usually deficient in vitamins and sometimes plants even die because of the lack of it's source throughout the growth process. On the other hand, fruits with sufficient sunlight, water and fertile soil thrive with an abundance of vitamins. It's the same with an individual Christian life. We thrive when we connect to our source. By connecting to the source, Jesus Christ we will flourish in our walk with God and it will show within our fruit.
The Harvest
When a plant produce fruit, it is purposed for the plant to consume? NO! A plant produce fruit so that animals especially humans can consume it and benefit from the nutrients it provides. To have others harvest your fruit is an indication that you've definitely produce a beneficial fruit. And it's a joy as a believer to have others enjoy our fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self - control. Our fruit is what compels unbelievers to seek salvation. I encourage you as a Christian, to please make good fruit through the Spirit manifested in you.
